How to run a giveaway draw

Collect the entries. Copy the names or usernames of everyone who entered, from comments, a form or a spreadsheet, and paste them in, one per line.
Check the list against your rules, especially duplicates (see below). Then spin.
Draw. Each winner leaves the wheel when you close the result, so nobody wins twice. Press Put back on the wheel to undo a draw.
Post the results. Copy results gives you a numbered list in draw order: first prize, second prize and so on.

Duplicate entries

Every line on the wheel is one slice. If someone appears twice, they get two slices and twice the chance. That’s right when your rules give extra entries, for example one per comment. If your rules say one entry per person, remove the extra lines before you spin.

For long lists, the wheel with 1,000 names has a Remove duplicates button.

Showing the draw is fair

Run the draw where people can see it: share your screen on a call, or record the spin. Full screen shows only the wheel.

The winner is chosen with your browser’s cryptographic random number source before the wheel turns, so every entry has the same chance. Share this wheel gives you a link to the full entry list. Anyone with that link can see the names, so check your rules before you post it.

Giveaway wheel questions

Can the same person win twice?

Not unless you put them back. Each winning line leaves the wheel when you close the result. If a name is on the list twice, its second line stays on the wheel until it’s drawn or removed.

How do I show the draw was fair?

Show the spin live or record it, and keep the winners list. Copy results gives you the draw order to post. The pick uses your browser’s cryptographic random number source, with the same chance for every entry.

Are the entrants’ names stored?

No. The list stays in your browser and is never sent to us. A share link carries the names inside the link, so only share it with people who should see them.
