More questions of the day

How to use a question of the day

Ask it at the same moment every day: the start of a stand-up, the first five minutes of a class, or a post in the team chat. The habit matters more than the question.

Keep it light most days. Fun questions get everyone answering. Save the thoughtful ones for a smaller group or the end of the week.

Share the answers back. Read a few out, or show the word cloud, so people see that their answer counted.

  • In a team chat. Post it first thing and let people reply in a thread. On busy days, use a poll question so answering takes one tap.
  • In class. Show it on the board as students arrive. A word cloud gives every student a voice in the first minute. For students aged 13 and over.
  • In a meeting. Open with it, take two minutes, then start the agenda. In a big meeting, run it live so everyone answers at once.

Question of the week

Some groups meet once a week, not every day. The Question of the week section looks back at the week or ahead to the next one. It suits a Friday wrap-up, a weekly team meeting or a club that meets on the same day each week.

Ask it live

In RiLiFi you put the question on the big screen and people answer from their phones, with nothing to install. Word cloud questions grow into a live cloud where the most shared answers get biggest. Poll questions fill a live bar chart. Talk it through questions need a sentence, so they work best out loud.

To set one up, follow how to run a word cloud.
